Jehovah was not in the wind. And after the wind, an earthquake: Jehovah was not in the earthquake.
And after the earthquake, a fire: Jehovah was not in the fire. And after the fire, a soft gentle voice. (1Kings 19:11-12)

When Your Story is Silence

There are times when silence is your story.

When you must whisper to your restless soul to wait in silence.

When pouring out your heart in His presence brings hope.

When waiting on God is all that waters your weary soul.

When hoping in Him is how you find your way home.

For in God alone, your soul waits, in quiet surrender.

Trusting in the One who is your refuge, your rock.

  2. You have spoken to where I am right now in life. Still and waiting on the Lord to move. My prayer is to do it gracefully so as to give God the most glory in my stillness. The image is lovely.

  3. Rebekah,
Beautiful, as always! This makes me think of one of my favorite verses..."Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10.
    God Bless.

  5. Rachael, thank you! The problem is that we don't always heed that gentle soft voice calling is to that quiet place! But I think I am definitely there where I need to go and drink and drink and drink from the Fountain of Life!
    Blessings and love
