Things like . . . cooking with mushrooms and kale, going to a waterpark, recording my voice and posting it for others to hear, being vulnerable, facing some fears, you know, peculiar stuff like that.
And it almost makes me feel brave.
Almost.

There have been areas in my life that I have wrestled with for God to heal and He hasn't.Things that I have absolutely no control over.
None.
*****
There are things that I have learned through stepping out of comfort zones and wrestling with God.
I may not want to, but I need to.
It may not be the way I want it, but I still need to trust.
Absolutely
and
Completely.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

God has called me out of my comfort zone quite a bit lately...kicking and screaming I might add. The part about cooking with mushrooms and kale made me smile. . .random, have you tried baking kale? Yummy.
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteSurrendering is hard, isn't it?!
I've steamed the kale and then mixed it with browned butter and walnuts, and I put it in lasagna, but haven't baked it - will have to look into that. Thanks for the tip ;)
Being vulnerable, baring our fears challenges us. Once we reveal, it seems more real somehow and we have no control of the outcome. Yet as we trust Him (surrender), and as He sanctifies, we learn to trust Him more and I think of Joshua 1:9. Being courageous, doesn't always eliminate the fear -it's going forward with the fear tucked safely in His hand and trusting He is with us wherever we go. One day His perfect love will cast out our fear. I'm rowing a similar boat over here. Joyful Fox
ReplyDeleteLove it! I am just stopping by for a brief visit from the writers group.
