Jehovah was not in the wind. And after the wind, an earthquake: Jehovah was not in the earthquake.
And after the earthquake, a fire: Jehovah was not in the fire. And after the fire, a soft gentle voice. (1Kings 19:11-12)

Five Minute Friday: Song

Her little life is such a sweet melody. She bounces through her days, and follows in her brother's and sister's steps, trying to keep up to their rhythmic dance of life.

She brings laughter into our lives and humour into our home. Her three year old antics, her snuggles and smiles add incredible dynamics to our days and her little soliloquies don't always make sense but they do make a heart merry.

Since her first cries and coos, she has been 'a delight'. She adds a special harmony and, of course, throws in the occasional dissonant chord to add a flare to the music of our family. She really has just barely begun this symphony of life, but she directs us all as to how to live it to its fullest.

Heart abandoned and arms raised high. Singing her song, like no one else can.

"All the earth worships you and sings praises to you!
They sing praises to your name! (Selah)" Psalm 66:4

  1. We have a singer too, and she is my delight. Even when our songs don't harmonize:) Love this.

  2. A beautifully lyrical post. I love it! Save this for your daughter...she will so appreciate hearing this celebration of her. Blessings!

  3. Three year olds are the best, just becoming a little independent but still babies in so many ways. I well remember the "soliloquies" that don't necessarily make any sense, except they do to mom, somehow.

  4. I love the songs our daughter sings. I often catch her singing or humming...she always seems to have a song in her heart! Your post was beautiful. Such wonderful expression from a Mama's heart!
