The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
For the month of November I will be hunting.
Hunting for God's grace, steadfast love and His mercies that are new every morning.
So after writing for 31 Days in October I thought I would take a break, but apparently I'll just go hunting for more of God's amazing grace.
It was a 'Windsday' here today and the blustery day has left very few leaves on the trees. The days are getting shorter and colder. The dismal greys and browns have spilled all over the canvas outside and the bright reds and golds of October have faded away.
I feel worn and tired but instead of burrowing deep into the melancholy of the month, I aim to keep hunting for the grace of God in my life. The Gentle Shepherd and His unfailing love hunts us down, his steadfast love follows us all the days of our lives.
Join me here for the mercies of God that new every morning for the month of November and give thanks?
The more we hunt the more we will find! Perhaps we will have to call it 'Morevember' or 'Newvember'?
Some days I will use Ann Voskamp's 'Gifts list', some days I may just post a photo or a verse, and some days may be entirely something new as I hunt for God's daily gifts in my life as He pours out His steadfast love and new mercies every day.
Fighting the melancholy with foraging for more of His mercies that never come to an end.
{Edited to add: 3 gifts 'eaten' ~ 3 simple and nourishing meals made at home and served around our family table with lots of commotion, conversation and laughter; fresh ground coffee while playing checkers with my son at a community cafe; a late night treat}

Also linking with Five Minute Friday at Lisa-Jo's place. This week the prompt is: Grace
Officially, the rules are:
2. Link up at Lisa-Jo's and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community...
I love the idea of noticing for November. This Scripture was one that I clung to during a two year period when my husband and I felt we were to leave the church where he was pastoring (that we loved) and were not sure what was next.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from FMF....and when I did realized I was recently here and remember reading your I am adopted post :)

DeleteI really do love this "hunting for God's grace." I continue to hunt as I find blessings in this upcoming deployment (the days are in single digits). I need to do a better job of writing them down though! But His grace is found EVERYWHERE. Thank you for linking up for Three Word Wednesday and for your comment love on my post. Grateful for you friend. Love that picture too!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you! You are both brave!! Keep hunting!
