"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit."
{Psalm 34:18}
This road has been extremely hard. I cannot say it any other way.
I'm weary. There is still a lot of hard to come.
The days of tests and waiting have come to an end (for now). Through them we have had an incredible peace.
Today we were told once again that my aortic valve needs to be replaced. If it is not replaced, my heart would stop most likely before I turn 40.
For the first time we were told by the heart surgeon that he was confident he could do it. It will be very high risk but I will be in good hands. For that we are so grateful.
I'm being prepped for open-heart surgery for 12pm tomorrow.
The only way forward is complete trust and surrender into the Lord's hands.
I know many are praying and we flat out beg you not to stop. Your prayers are upholding us through this time.
There are too many risks and requests to list here tonight, but we told Dr. David that many would be praying for him.
Pray for God's hand to be at work and that He would be exalted through all of it.
Thank you for walking with us.
{You can find a prayer schedule to keep the prayer constant here.}

"When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid."
{Psalm 56:3,4}
Dearest Rebekah,
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and with Dr. David. May God give you all a good sleep tonight, and bring His peace to you tomorrow. May the Great Physician lay His healing hands upon you, and may He bring your body complete restoration.
GOD BLESS.
Bless your dear heart! I am so sorry to hear this, but I am believing God that He will guide Dr. David tomorrow, and that this procedure will bless and enhance your health in wonderful ways...that He will heal you and allow you to live to raise your dear children and FAR beyond that. You are right...you are in the best of hands...God is holding you always. "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Deuteronomy 33:27 God be with you...I am not on Facebook, so will just trust God that all is well with you. Much love, Cheryl

ReplyDeleteI will praise thee, O Lord, with my WHOLE heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. (Psalms 9:1 KJV)

ReplyDeleteContinued prayers for you all...
ReplyDeleteDear Rebekah,
ReplyDeleteAs I am typing this, on Saturday, your surgery is over. I pray that it went well and you are recovering smoothly! I wanted to share that my daughter had her mitral valve replaced when she was 23 (yes, 23!). It had degenerated 90% by that young age. However, the hope and encouragement that I want to give to you is that she is doing GREAT! She received a bio-prosthetic valve (bovine) and it is working great! It is almost 5 years later and it has made such a huge difference! My prayer is that after you heal from your surgery, you will feel renewed energy and will feel even better than ever before!
Blessings, Joan
Praying for your recovery, kind bloggy friend!
ReplyDeletePraying and trusting, Rebekah.

DeleteI have been so concerned about you...have come back here often to check to see if there would be a new post from you. Thankfully, I was able to access your Facebook page today and was so thankful to see that God is bringing you through this awful ordeal!! Please know that there are prayers going up for you, and I just believe God has great things in store for you and your family. I believe your testimony will be GREAT when this is all over. May God's peace surround you in every moment. God bless you all.
